Toyko, hajimemashite!

Tokyo

Sensō-ji Kaminarimon Gate - Outer Gate of the Temple

Tokyo, I am glad to meet you!
After a long journey I arrived exhausted on a Sunday evening in Tokyo.
This is my first time in Japan and after stepping out of the airport the culture already seemed to be nothing like at home - an exciting but also scary feeling. After arriving in my new home, I got out to search for some dinner. I don’t really know what I ate or what the waitress was saying but it definitely helped against the hunger.
On my first Saturday I visited the Asakusa district. This area is famous for the oldest and most important temple in Tokyo - the Senso-ji temple - and for the Asakusa shrine.
Despite many visitors this sight was breathtaking, like nothing I have ever seen.
With this first little trip the Japan adventure starts. I hope you will enjoy the photographs and the short texts.
Thank you for checking out my blog :)
