Hokkaidō Winter Wonder Land - part 4 of 4

Asahikawa, Hokkaidō

Impressive ice sculpture

After having the best Ramen ever for dinner, a bus took us to Asahikawa. We arrived in there late and stayed in a rather cheap Airbnb booking. So the expectations were not too high. A lovely lady showed us the room and told us that the heater shouldn’t run all night as it emits Carbonmonoxide.
Well, we turned that heater off immediately. Needless to say, the night was a very cold one. But hey we survived. And we got supprised with an included breakfast - some hot pork soup, green salade, scrambled eggs, toast and a tea. That was lovely, as was the hosting lady!
Right outside the Airbnb was a street full off snow scluptures, one more impressive than the other. After having a look at those we warmed up with a cup of coffee (in my case a matcha latte as I don’t like coffee). Warming up after a couple hours outside is really necessary in those minus temperatures.
We continued to visit the Asahikawa Zoo - famous to offer views of the animals from different angles. I don’t like zoo’s too much, as I love animals and prefer them in the wild. But I read good things about this one, so we checked it out anyways. It was pretty cool.
That was our last day in Hokkaidō. Later this day we traveled back home to Tokyo.
I hope you enjoyed those four posts about our Hokkaido trip.
Enjoy the rest of the winter - soon spring is coming!
